Rita Pedro

Short Bio

Rita Pedro has a licentiate degree in Social Work from Instituto Superior de Serviço Social of Beja (2007) and is preparing her Master in Sociolinguistics. Between 2010 and 2012 she received special training in Language Documentation and Revitalization at CIDLeS.

Current Work at CIDLeS

Rita Pedro is research assistant at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social and Language Documentation (CIDLeS) and the responsible for its working group on Language Revitalization.

She is responsible for the implementation and teaching of Minderico in the local schools. She teaches Minderico to pupils between 6 and 14 years old in five classes in Minde and co-orients the training of new teachers of Minderico. She is currently preparing a Minderico textbook for the school together with Ingrid Scholz.
